Parent led organization to host code of conduct training on education and dignity

March 4, 2015, Dayton, OH- On Wednesday, March 11, Racial Justice NOW! will be hosting a training for education professionals and community members on how create a student code of conduct for school systems using human rights as a framework. The training will examine Dayton Public Schools’ discipline policies and provide alternative policies that create safe school climates that support all young people in reaching their fullest potential and reduce racial disparities.

Racial Justice NOW! is a member of the Dignity in Schools Campaign, a national coalition working to end school pushout and the school to prison pipeline. Racial Justice Now will be joined by Dignity in School’s National field organizer Fernando Martinez to present DSC’s Model Code of Conduct on Education and Dignity.

The Model Code of Conduct on Education and Dignity training will take place on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at the Northwest Recreation Center, 1600 Princeton Park Dayton, OH from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Space is limited. RSVP at http://bit.ly/1zvICEB

The DSC unites parents, youth, educators and advocates in a campaign to promote local and national alternatives to a culture of zero-tolerance, punishment, and removal.
