In Hazleton, Pennsylvania there has been a shocking video of four police brutally manhandling a female student. This shocking videos offers yet another reason as to why RJN! has consistently supported #CounselorsNotCops. Unfortunately, this type of abuse happens frequently, but does not receive the attention that this case is getting. Children go to school to learn and deserve a nurturing environment to make that learning happen. Sadly, not only was this young female student traumatized, but also her fellow students, staff, family, and others. How will this incident be resolved? Does the whole student body live in fear now? Do teachers threaten to call security on students still? Will there be changes made or was this type of discipline pleasing to school officials.
There must be some serious changes made in our schools system if we are to ever develop our youth into great leaders and scholars. This video is shocking, shameful, sad, and scary.
